Engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at our school.

Watch D.O.G.S. is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.

What do you do as a WatchDOG?

WatchDOGS are welcome at Pleasant Valley Middle and Pleasant Valley Primary! When you volunteer to be a Watch DOG you must first check-in at the school's office. You will receive a WatchDOG vest and a schedule for the day. WatchDOGS are particularly helpful during transition times at each school, helping maintain the safety and security of our students. Recess time can be a great opportunity for WatchDOGS to engage with students and reduce bullying on our playgrounds. Many Watch DOGS find that volunteering in classrooms can be equally rewarding. And Watch DOGS is not limited to only the classrooms that have their students on the roster.
